A Private Evening with Father and Son Chef Team Jimmy Bannos Sr. and Jimmy Bannos Jr. at The Purple Pig in Chicago


Enjoy James Beard Foundation’s 2014 Rising Star Chef Jimmy Bannos Jr. and his father, Jimmy Bannos Sr., as they cook together and host Inside Access from Chase guests for an evening of signature and specially created dishes showcasing the flavors of Italy, Greece and Spain.

This private event at The Purple Pig will begin with a passed and stationary hors d’oeuvres reception. Guests will then be seated for a specially-curated five-course dinner featuring suckling pig, beef, chicken and seafood dishes served in the restaurant’s traditional shared plates family style. Each course will be paired with Mediterranean wines selected by head Sommelier, Liz Martinez.

Chefs Jimmy Jr. and Jimmy Sr. will visit with guests and take photos at this special evening.

Since opening in 2009, under the leadership of Jimmy Bannos Jr., The Purple Pig has consistently received accolades, including being named early on as one of 2010’s “10 Best New Restaurants in America” by Bon Appétit magazine; and a Bib Gourmand recipient from the Michelin Guide Chicago for five consecutive years.  

Jimmy Bannos Sr., a third generation restaurateur, cookbook author and philanthropist, received the Chicago Chefs Hall of Fame Award and March of Dimes, Chef of the Year Award. His son, Jimmy Bannos Jr., a fourth generation restaurateur was ‘born and raised’ in his father’s restaurant, Heaven on Seven. Most recently, Jimmy Jr. also won the MenuMasters 2015 “Innovator Award.”

As a memento of the evening each guest will receive a pre-signed recipe booklet featuring selected recipes from the evening’s menu.
