The San Francisco Ballet welcomes the Hamburg Ballet back to the Opera House stage! From John Neumeier, the visionary choreographer of SF Ballet's international sensation The Little Mermaid and last season's smash-hit Nijinsky, comes one of his most joyous and popular creations: A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The evening will begin with a delicious array of hors d'oeuvres and wines, served in Jardinière style, and the opportunity to meet with one of America's premiere chefs – Traci Des Jardins.
Immediately following the reception you will move next door to The War Memorial Opera House and take your seats for the performance of The Hamburg Ballet's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
This stunning interpretation of Shakespeare's enchanting tale of love, quarrels, and mistaken identity has thrilled audiences around the world. A Midsummer Night's Dream features inspired choreography, exquisite sets and costumes, and a breathtaking score by Mendelssohn and Gyorgy Ligeti. A Midsummer Night's Dream was choreographed by well-known US-American ballet dancer, choreographer, and director John Neumeier.
This will be an unforgettable evening that should not be missed!
