You are invited to share in an intimate culinary experience with two of Chicago’s finest chefs at Blackbird, where the freshest local ingredients are incorporated into innovations of the modern culinary world. Blackbird’s Executive Chef and Partner Paul Kahan, was nominated for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef Award in 2007 and 2009 and received the James Beard Foundation "Best Chef Midwest" award in 2004. Joining Chef Kahan is fellow James Beard Award-nominee Pastry Chef Mindy Segal, owner of the decadent Mindy’s HotChocolate Restaurant and Dessert Bar.
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception featuring Blackbird’s signature hors d’oeuvres, specialty cocktails and sparkling wines while Chef Kahan and Chef Segal mingle among the guests. The event will continue with a five-course tasting menu that is paired with wines personally selected by Blackbird’s Wine Director, Chris Nostvick. Chef Kahan, alongside Chef de Cuisine David Posey, will introduce each of the appetizer and main entrée courses, while Chef Segal will speak about the dessert courses being served together with Blackbird’s Pastry Chef, Bryce Caron.
