A Weekend of Wine & Discovery at Flavor! Napa Valley®


Inside Access from Chase guests will begin their two-day Flavor! Napa Valley® experience on Friday afternoon with other festival goers for Chef Morimoto's cooking demonstration. Known to millions as the star of Iron Chef and Iron Chef America—Morimoto has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his seamless integration of Western and Japanese ingredients.

Cardmembers will be offered preferred seating for this entertaining one-hour demonstration of Chef Morimoto's legendary culinary talent. This fun-filled gastronomic journey moves beyond standard sushi to the intricacies of his signature exotic Japanese delicacies. You will also have the opportunity to meet and take photos with Morimoto and receive a pre-signed copy of his book, Morimoto: The New Art of Japanese Cooking.

Friday evening enjoy early access to Flavor! Napa Valley's® signature event, the Appellation Trail grand tasting. Prior to entering the food and wine tasting, a Napa Valley expert will offer Inside Access guests a brief introduction and tips for experiencing this grand walk-around evening. As you explore wines from nearly 90 of Napa Valley's finest wineries, you'll have the opportunity to chat with winemakers and sample dishes from 25 area restaurants - all within the majestic Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. You will be among approximately three hundred select guests including sponsors and the trade to enter the event one-hour prior to the public.

Your experience continues on Saturday during a private afternoon of great wines and great food at family-owned, historic Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery hosted by Owner and Founder Mary Novak and her daughter, President/CEO Beth Novak Milliken.

Guests will be greeted with a glass of Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc and passed hors d'oeuvres at the winery production facility, followed by a memorable tour of the estate and vineyard. Tours will be led by Beth and Winemaker Aron Weinkauf and will include the winery production facilities, "ghost winery" stone cellar, vineyard, and a special tour of the backyard and beautiful gardens of Mary Novak's private, historic Victorian home. Mary will greet you with a special toast.

Following the tour you will return to the winery production facility and enjoy a delicious three-course lunch with Mary, Beth, and Aron at the winery surrounded by wine barrels, immersing yourself in the wine production process. Each course will be paired with exceptional Spottswoode wines; a combination of current releases as well as a selection from Mary's personal collection of library vintages not available to the public, including the 2010 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon which earned a perfect score by Robert Parker in 2013 in The Wine Advocate.

The menu will be created by acclaimed guest chef Brad Farmerie, executive chef of The Thomas (Napa), Saxon + Parole (New York), and PUBLIC (New York), which has been awarded a Michelin star every year since 2009.

Mary Novak and her husband Jack purchased the Spottswoode Estate in 1972. Widowed unexpectedly in 1977, Mary Novak realized their shared dream in 1982 by producing Spottswoode's first Cabernet Sauvignon, becoming one of the first women to run a major Napa Valley winegrowing estate. In the years since, she and Beth have established Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery as one of the valley's great family-owned wineries and first growth-caliber properties. In 1998, Beth was elected the youngest president of the Napa Valley Vintners, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Aron joined the Spottswoode team in 2006 as assistant winemaker. Five years later, in recognition of his deep understanding of the vineyard, his gifted palate, and his artistry as a winemaker, Aron was named the fifth winemaker in the storied history of Spottswoode.

Inside Access guests with confirmed reservations will also be offered a fifteen percent discount for other Flavor! Napa Valley® events while space is available. A detailed itinerary and instructions for redeeming the discount will be sent to each cardmember who purchases a package.

Saturday - November 22nd 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM

  • Private Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery Tour
  • Three-course lunch specially created by Chef Brad Farmerie & paired with Spottswoode wines

Note: There is NO Transportation provided on Saturday - guests should be prepared to come to Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery in private vehicles. Directions and timing of events will be provided in your detailed itinerary.


PACKAGE B - EXPERIENCE INCLUDES
Friday - November 21st 2:30 PM - 8:30 PM

  • 2:30 PM Event Registration at Silverado Resort and Spa
  • 5:00 PM Early Access to the Appellation Trail grand tasting
  • Transportation via motor coach from the Silverado Resort and Spa to The Culinary Institute of America, and return to the Silverado Resort and Spa post Appellation Trail

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
While hotel accommodations are not included in the above packages, Silverado Resort and Spa is offering an Inside Access from Chase rate for either a Resort Guestroom or a One Bedroom Fireplace Suite (single or double occupancy). Must be booked and paid for separately by each participating cardmember.
